Joanne Dewar

Chief Executive Officer
Board Member
Since joining GPS in 2014 Joanne has contributed significantly to the overall success of the business to date through reinforcing of foundations of our people, processes and technology to support the sustained rapid growth.

With her in-depth knowledge of our company, our culture and our capabilities, Joanne is well positioned to drive the necessary ongoing change within GPS to ensure its continued success. Prior to GPS, Joanne had a successful career in management consulting, specialising in complex multinational transformation programmes for FTSE 100 companies.

Richard Hodgson

Chief Financial Officer
Richard is responsible for scaling the GPS Finance function as it expands geographically, bringing more customers onto the GPS platform.

A qualified accountant, Richard brings with him over 25 years of experience in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, and FMCG. Prior to joining GPS, Richard held senior positions at XE.com, HiFX, Travelex, and GlaxoSmithKline.

Neil Harris

Chief Commercial Officer
With over 14 years of experience in the payments industry, Neil’s key focus has been on driving positive change within the payments industry, initiating collaboration between influential peers to support financial inclusion initiatives and building customer success by delivering added value through his extensive knowledge of the payment space and emerging technologies. Neil also is Chair of the Financial Inclusion Committee at the EPA.

Cecil Edwards

Chief Operating Officer
Cecil joined GPS in 2021 as Group Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the company’s global operations and implementations divisions, powering the next generation of payments worldwide. 

Cecil has over 20 years’ financial services experience and specialises in operational and digital transformation, corporate restructuring, and business strategy within the retail banking, fintech, and wealth management sectors. Prior to GPS, Cecil held senior roles at HSBC, Accenture, and Flagstone.

Jerome Gudgeon

Chief Technology Officer
Jerome spearheads the technology strategy and delivery for the business, which includes overall responsibility for the development and day-to-day technology operations of the GPS Apex platform. 

Having held senior technology and leadership positions at American Express, TD Bank, Fidelity and a Swiss Private Bank, Jerome brings more than 25 years’ experience in payments, investments and banking technology. Alongside this, he also founded two fintech start-ups in payments and investments.

Lisa Grahame

Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
Lisa leads the risk management and compliance organisation at GPS, and is responsible for the development and implementation of its risk management approach. This includes oversight of GPS’ spectrum of risk activities, including its core operational model, compliance, conduct, legal, and reputation risk, with controls and governance established for each area as appropriate.

Prior to joining GPS, Lisa spent 17 years working in Information Technology and Security across financial services and electronic test and measurement, with roles at J.P. Morgan and Agilent Technologies.

Nick Telford-Reed

Interim Chief Product Officer
Nick joined GPS in 2021 as Interim Chief Product Officer and is responsible for the overall product strategy and roadmap. Nick has extensive experience managing product and engineering teams for global payments organisations including Worldpay and a host of start-ups in his earlier career.

Nick is the chair of the Web Payments Working Group for World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and also an invited expert for the European Working Group of the FIDO alliance global identity authentication organisation.

Gene Lockhart

Chair
Gene Lockhart is Chairman Emeritus and General Partner at MissionOG, where he leverages his deep operator experience to focus on investment opportunities in financial services, payments, and data platforms. He is currently a Senior Adviser to The Blackstone Group, and was previously a Special Advisor at General Atlantic, President and CEO of MasterCard International, CEO of Midland Bank PLC, and President of Global Retail Bank of Bank of America. Gene has served on the board of First Republic Bank, Alkami Technology, Featurespace, and many other companies.

John Chaplin

Vice-chair
John has been a prominent global figure in retail payments for many years, having previously held senior executive positions at Visa and First Data. He is currently a director of Sentenial and Interswitch, as well as board adviser to Trunomi and is actively involved in private equity with Helios the leading African fund.

He is the organiser and chair of the Global Payments Innovation Jury, a panel of 70 leading CEOs.

Jeff Paduch

Board Member 
Managing Partner - Advent International Ltd
Jeff Paduch joined Advent in 2002, moving to the London office in 2005. He is responsible for coordinating the firm’s efforts in the business and financial services sector as well as coverage of the Nordic region. Prior to Advent, Jeff worked in the Financial Sponsors / Leveraged Finance Group of UBS Warburg in New York.

Jeff received a BA, cum laude, from the University of Virginia. Jeff has worked on 22 Advent investments, including Aaeron AG, Ebanx, Equiniti, Nets, Planet, Prisma, Transaction Services Group (TSG) and WorldPay.

Peter James

Board member 
Director - Advent International Ltd
Peter James joined Advent in 2020 and focuses on investing in the business and financial services sectors. Peter has been a private equity investor since 2010, working primarily on large and mid-cap buyouts at TPG Capital in London and San Francisco, prior to joining Advent. Peter began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch.
 
Peter earned his BSc (Hons) from the University of Bath and his Masters from Sciences Po Paris. Peter has worked on Advent's investment in Aareon AG.
