Leadership team

Kevin Schultz

Chief Executive Officer
Kevin is a long-established expert in the payments and electronic banking industry with an impressive global career spanning 40 years. Prior to joining GPS as CEO in July 2022, he served as Fiserv’s Group President of Digital Banking for over five years. 

Prior to Fiserv, Kevin was President, Global Financial Services at First Data where he managed the company’s $2.5B financial institution services business providing payment processing services to organisations in over 60 countries. This followed nearly 16 years at Visa where he was widely recognised as the architect behind the creation of Visa’s debit card processing business - Visa DPS - which grew to be the leading provider of debit card services to the nation’s largest banks and credit unions. 

Cameron Cox

Chief Transformation Officer
Cameron joined GPS in April 2022 in this newly created role to shape GPS’ strategic integrated payments business initiatives to capture new international growth opportunities. Based in London, Cameron sits on GPS’ global executive committee.
 
Cameron has spent over three decades helping financial services businesses scale and innovate with a unique blend of cross-functional and technical expertise, in addition to corporate leadership to support technology-driven strategic transformation initiatives across multiple sectors including Payments, Banking, Technology & Consulting. Prior to joining GPS, Cameron was Head of Technology Transformation & Global Chief of Staff at Worldpay.

Simon Stanford

Chief Revenue Officer
Simon joined GPS in 2022 to spearhead the company’s global commercial, partnerships and customer relationship management, and marketing teams with a focus on developing GPS’ global partnerships ecosystem, marketing and brand strategy, and driving revenue growth worldwide.

He joined GPS from Worldpay where he was Senior Vice President for the EMEA region and led a commercial team of over 450 people. He has more than 20 years of commercial experience, predominantly gained at global technology and telecommunications businesses including Samsung Electronics and O2 (Telefónica UK).

Kim Ohlrogge

Chief Product Officer
Kim is GPS’ Chief Product Officer, focused on ensuring our product set is robust and provides significant value to our customers.   

She has spent more than 20 years in the payments and technology space and has gained extensive leadership experience across diverse product roles and technology areas with companies ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 100 both in Europe and the US. Prior to GPS Kim held leadership roles at Nexi/Nets, TSYS and Digital River. 

Cecil Edwards

Group Chief Operating Officer
Cecil joined GPS in 2021 as Group Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the company’s global operations and implementations divisions, powering the next generation of payments worldwide. 

Cecil has over 20 years’ financial services experience and specialises in operational and digital transformation, corporate restructuring, and business strategy within the retail banking, fintech, and wealth management sectors. Prior to GPS, Cecil held senior roles at HSBC, Accenture, and Flagstone.

Betsy Samuel

Chief Marketing Officer
Betsy is a senior executive with over 30 years cross-functional experience in global financial services and fintech organisations. An expert in consumer payments behaviour and the electronic banking ecosystem, she’s been a leader in the evolution, strategy and marketing of payments networks that’s driven growth of digital commerce, online account access and debit card payments worldwide.

Prior to GPS, Betsy held key positions at Fiserv, First Data and the STAR debit network.  Before locating to London from the US, she was Chief of Staff within Fiserv’s Digital Banking & International groups.  She has also served as SVP, Customer Experience, head of Group Service Provider accounts, as well as holding senior positions in brand marketing, product marketing and customer communications at First Data and STAR. She has worked with financial institutions, processors, and merchants across the US to drive card payments adoption.

Anthony Nakandalage

VP Corporate Strategy
Anthony joined GPS in 2022 as VP – Corporate Strategy and is responsible for helping to define where and how the company should deploy its resources to maximize long-term strategic value. 

Anthony has more than 17 years’ global financial services technology experience delivering product, growth and corporate strategies across payments, banking, and digital solution verticals. Prior to GPS, Anthony held senior roles at Fiserv and Temenos. 

Ian Ripley

Chief Technology  Officer
Ian joined GPS in 2022 as Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for the company’s technology team, delivering the next generation of processing services.  

He has more than 26 years’ payments experience across issuing, acquiring, electronic money institutions and PSPs. Prior to GPS Ian held senior roles in DNA Payments, Paysafe and First Data International (Fiserv). 

Sharyn Wilson

Chief People Officer
Sharyn joined GPS in November 2022 and leads the company’s global HR organisation, encompassing Talent Strategy, Recruitment, Culture, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits.  

She is an accomplished HR leader with over two decades of experience shaping international talent strategies, driving transformational change programmes, and scaling multi-national businesses of all shapes and sizes ranging from FTSE 100 to SME’s, including private equity backed businesses. Prior to GPS, Sharyn was a self-employed consultant advising beauty group Orveon in setting up their UK and Republic of Ireland HR function for their newly acquired businesses, Laura Mercier, Bare Minerals and Buxom. Other companies including the likes of Worldpay, Zellis and New Look.

Gene Lockhart

Chair
Gene Lockhart is Chairman Emeritus and General Partner at MissionOG, where he leverages his deep operator experience to focus on investment opportunities in financial services, payments, and data platforms. He is currently a Senior Adviser to The Blackstone Group, and was previously a Special Advisor at General Atlantic, President and CEO of MasterCard International, CEO of Midland Bank PLC, and President of Global Retail Bank of Bank of America. Gene has served on the board of First Republic Bank, Alkami Technology, Featurespace, and many other companies.

Joanne Dewar

Vice-Chair
Joining in 2014 and promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2018, Joanne was instrumental in scaling GPS and securing investment from arguably the most impressive consortium in the payments industry, closing a $400 million fund raise in January 2022. Joanne stepped up to the newly created role of Vice Chair in July 2022 and focuses on the GPS’ growth and global profile. Prior to GPS, Joanne worked in management consulting, where she specialised in complex multinational transformation programmes for FTSE 100 companies.

John Chaplin

Vice-Chair
John has been a prominent global figure in retail payments for many years, having previously held senior executive positions at Visa and First Data. He is currently a director of Sentenial and Interswitch, as well as board adviser to Trunomi and is actively involved in private equity with Helios the leading African fund.

He is the organiser and chair of the Global Payments Innovation Jury, a panel of 70 leading CEOs.

Jeff Paduch

Board Member 
Managing Partner - Advent International Ltd
Jeff Paduch joined Advent in 2002, moving to the London office in 2005. He is responsible for coordinating the firm’s efforts in the business and financial services sector as well as coverage of the Nordic region. Prior to Advent, Jeff worked in the Financial Sponsors / Leveraged Finance Group of UBS Warburg in New York.

Jeff received a BA, cum laude, from the University of Virginia. Jeff has worked on 22 Advent investments, including Aaeron AG, Ebanx, Equiniti, Nets, Planet, Prisma, Transaction Services Group (TSG) and WorldPay.

Peter James

Board member 
Director - Advent International Ltd
Peter James joined Advent in 2020 and focuses on investing in the business and financial services sectors. Peter has been a private equity investor since 2010, working primarily on large and mid-cap buyouts at TPG Capital in London and San Francisco, prior to joining Advent. Peter began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch.
 
Peter earned his BSc (Hons) from the University of Bath and his Masters from Sciences Po Paris. Peter has worked on Advent's investment in Aareon AG.
